Energy balls with coconut flour and dates

bliss balls coco

These energy balls are a great snack to eat before a run or some other good training moment. They are high in energy 100% natural and vegan. This recipe makes about 10 energy balls, but of course you can easily double or triple the recipe for more bliss balls. The energy balls are good to keep for a few weeks in the fridge so a perfect treat to make in advance.

There are so many recipes for energy balls, protein snacks or bliss balls so I experimented a couple of times, but this recipe is on to use over and over again. The base for these energy balls are dates, oats and coconut flour. It is very important to use dates that are soft and sticky otherwise the mixture gets too dry and will not hold together. If you can only find dry dates, soak them for a couple of hours to soften them and get them more moist.

In these recipe I flavoured the energy balls with some acai, maca powder and dark cacao. But of course you can replace these dry ingredients with any of other flavours in dry form. So also try these balls with beetroot powder or a flavoured protein powder for some more protein.
